Method
- 01
Connect X on the same Grok account
On grok.com, open Settings, then Account, and choose Connect next to the X account. Grok Bot has to be on that same account, with at least one bot you created.
- 02
Use a bot of your own
Bots that someone shared with you cannot take tagged requests. Create your own bot first if the only ones you have are imports.
- 03
Reply and tag @bot yourself
For example: "@bot summarize this thread and send the key points to my Slack." Tag @bot in your own post. The X for Grok Bot plugin is optional for this.
- 04
Read the result in the app
@bot answers on X with a short confirmation. The work and the result stay in your main bot's conversation in Grok Bot. It receives your post, the post you replied to, and any post either of them quotes, including still photos.

Limits
Tagging is not available for X accounts based in Australia, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway. Your current location and any VPN do not change the country on the account. If X has only a broad region, or no country, tagging is not available either. In those cases @bot does not reply. @bot also stays quiet if you did not tag it yourself, if the post also tags @grok, or if the post, its parent, or a quoted post has a video or a GIF.
